Debbie Nelson – Founder and Coach

LifeMap College Prep is the culmination of Debbie Nelson’s professional accomplishments, personal experience, and passion for helping people realize their full potential—especially young adults. Founded in 2013, LifeMap prepares students for the exciting journey ahead. The College Prep program helps families through the college preparation and application process and ultimately teaches students the life skills that will help them get fulfilling internships and jobs. And, you can customize a program to meet your specific needs.

Debbie spent 22 years in marketing and advertising while working for companies such as J. Walter Thompson, Goodby Silverstein and Partners, and The Walt Disney Company. She created and managed the first-ever talent development and retention program at Temerlin McClain advertising agency in Dallas.  She was also responsible for recruiting and training employees, her entrée into personal coaching.

For the next 8 years, she worked with people of all ages and from all walks of life providing education and career guidance, including direct assistance in getting jobs. Working with teens and newly-minted adults, she realized how challenging the world had become for young people. She committed herself to helping them meet these challenges ultimately finding a fulfilling career.

When Debbie isn’t working with students or researching the latest on the high school and college education front, you are likely to find her working with Communities In Schools of North Texas.

Debbie received her Bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College in Vermont and her facilitation certification from Leadership Management International.
